Day 13: February 11th, 2010
 Eric Schwartz

There are perils and perks to growing up listening to Dr. Demento and Dr. Ruth every Sunday night in high school. Eric Schwartz's razor sharp, adults-mostly, on-the-spot wit combined with his exceptional musicality have made him a stand-out performer when appearing on the Comedy Central Stage (in Sit'n Spin); with comedy masters like Jim Norton, Rich Vos, Bobby Slayton and Jim Florentine on "The Bad Boys of Comedy;" at clubs (The Improv, The Comedy Store, The Ice House), on the radio (Howard Stern 100, NPR's All Things Considered, Doctor Demento, and Air America), and on the web, where his edgy, political YouTube videos chalk up millions of hits and garner him illicit proposals from all corners of the globe. www.ericschwartz.com

Eric Suggested that I go to a dictionary and pick the first three words that I found.  Later, when I sent him the words, he replied with an e-mail asking what dictionary I’d used, he was suspicious.
The words were Relative Humidity, Coagulate, and Nervous System. Eric’s right; I’m suspicious of my dictionary too.
“Nervous System” bumped into my mind and I got the image of someone who gets unnerved by just about everything, someone a little uptight. I figured what would make anyone more uptight that meeting a girl he actually likes? (It always works for me at least). Figuring out how to fit “relative humidity” in was the real challenge. I decided it would suffice as the worst pick up line in history, why not? From there coagulate seemed to fit right in. In the end, I’m mostly just happy to finally make a They Might Be Giants reference in one of my songs.

Timmy Riordan

Timmy has been called ‘the hidden gem” of the Somerville/Cambridge music scene. In February 2009 he wrote and posted 28 songs on his website. This year he’s doing it again.  He has also decided there should be 8 day in a week (in honor of the Beatles of course) and has invited 32 of his songwriting friends to support him through the month by each writing a song themselves. Over the last summer he recorded 8 of those songs on a CD entitled “Peter Let Me In.” Each CD includes an original cover, hand-drawn just for you in Sharpie by Timmy. Proceeds from this hand-crafted album are all going directed to the making of “New York’s Ignoring Me” his next studio album to be released in summer of 2010.
